The
only Shetland Shopping Centre, conveniently situated near to Lerwick Town
Centre, has been gradually developed throughout the 1990s up to the present
day and provides a wide range of local shops and other amenities.
The centre takes its name from the Toll Booth clock, dating from 1825, which was restored and re-erected on this site in 1965. The section on the seafront was constructed in 1966 and first used as a boat building yard. The attractive new red buildings were designed and built for ground floor retail and mainly first floor offices. Virtually all shops in the centre are open six days a week, Monday to Saturday and some offer late shopping on Thursdays. Parking is extensive and free adjacent to the centre. Other services include toilets, baby change, payphones, bank autoteller and Post Office. Also based in the centre are local authority offices, the Local Enterprise Company and Careers Shetland. The Toll Clock Shopping Centre offers you shopping and services in a welcoming and pleasant environment. A special welcome is offered to visitors from both UK and overseas - within the shopping centre you will find many inviting attractions and adjacent to the centre are Lerwick's oldest and newest piers, the NorthLink Ferry Terminal, Shetland Hotel, Co-op supermarket, Clickimin Leisure Centre, other shopping facilities, features and interests.
